Biology is not that compulsory for giving Vellore Institute of Technology Entrance Examination. The candidate must have scored at least 60% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the previous qualifying examination. However there is a huge difference for reserved categories that they have to score only 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination for being eligible for the examination.

but if you want to study biomedical engineering you should take biology for viteee.

Congratulations for your result. I think you must be comparing VIT and MIT. There is not much difference in both the engineering colleges as both are equally good and best in its own way. However, VIT is an autonomous Institute affiliated to University of Pune on the other hand MIT has better ranking in NIRF engineering ranking.

No, VIT-AP University, Amaravati does not give admissions on the basis of AP EAMCET score. The admissions are based on JEE Main or VITEEE. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)  is a four-year full-time undergraduate program offered by the VIT-AP University, Amaravati. VIT- AP University was established in the academic year 2017-18. VIT has made categories based on the ranks scored by the students in the respective entrance examination. It actually determines the number of fees a candidate needs to pay for the course. Candidates having higher ranks will probably have to pay fewer fees compared to other students.

So, category 1 probably falls up to the first 20,000 ranks, and category 1 means they will have to pay the least fee as compared to other students. However, these ranks of students are not fixed and can vary according to the number of students taking admission.

This year VIT witnessed 85% placement of the whole batch of computer science specialising in bioinformatics within the first 4 months of the placement drive . If placement is why you want to join bioinformatics then be assured that you are going to land up with the job of about 4 to 5 lacs.
