Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar was established in the year 1987 as Regional Engineering College and given the status of National Institute of Technology (DeemedUniversity) by the Government of India on October 17, 2002 .

The fee structure for the Btech course at the institution is around 84000 for first semester which includes 62500 as the tution fee, 5000 as caution deposit and 17000 as miscellaneous charges. From second year onwards only tution charges are need to be paid.

Also it is important to keep following points in mind:

• 100% Tuition Fee waiver for SC/ST/PH students.
• Full remission of the Tuition Fee for General and OBC students whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh per annum.
• Remission of 2/3rd of the Tuition Fee for General and OBC students whose family income is between Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakh per annum.

Both NIT Jalandhar Electrical as well as PEC Chandigarh Mechanical have equally good Placements. However, Electrical Engineering definitely have greater scope and wider career scope and prospects, secondly the NIT Tag, does give some recognition and benefits during finding Internships & Projects. Hence, incase you dont have any such liking towards Mechanical Engineering, prefer Electrical at NIT Jalandhar over PEC Chandigarh.

If youre a CS Enthusiast and firm on the Branch, prefer IIITs like Guwahati, Pune, Vadodara, Bhubaneshwar and many others for CSE. Incase youve no such branch interest and are concerned only about Placements, NIT Jalandhar seems a Good Option. Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you according to your percentile your rank will be around 132990 - 149500 and with this rank in E.W.S quota getting N.I.T jalandhar even in home state quota is not possible you should definitely work hard hard and try to achieve more percentile next year.

As due to the covid -19 all the colleges even the premier ones saw a dip in the average package of the placements. Still nit jalandhar was good if I consider good nits like kurukshetra which faced only 50% placements in the year 2020.

If I consider the IT branch placements. It is strong in its placements and the average package for the branch is around 11-12L per annum. Companies like microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, cognizant comes for campus recruitments.

As per the faculty is concerned it is a pretty decent one. As this is a government college so you can't expect them to be very good . Sometimes they would get angry for no reason but overall it is a decent faculty and you would have the full support.
