Yes, even if you got your first preference in IPU counselling round 1, you can still participate in round 2 and modify your preference list. You will have the option to "float" your current seat, which means you can try to get a better college in the next round while retaining your current seat if you don't get a higher preference. If you don't get a better college in round 2, you will retain your original seat.
Round 1 Allotment: If you are happy with your first preference, you can "freeze" it and confirm your admission.
Floating for Upgrade: If you want to try for a better college in round 2, you need to select the "float" option.
Round 2: You can then participate in round 2 and change your preference list.
If Upgraded: If you are allotted a better college in round 2, you will get a new seat allotment letter and need to take admission in the new college.
If Not Upgraded: If you don't get a better college, your original seat will be retained.
Fees: You will need to pay the seat acceptance fee to participate in round 2, even if you got a seat in round 1.
Dear student,
If you’ve scored 622 rank in IPU CET and you're from Delhi , your chances of getting into top IPU colleges are very good , especially for popular courses like BBA, BCA, BJMC, or B.Com (Hons) .
Delhi students benefit from home state reservation , which means cut-offs are generally lower than for outside-Delhi candidates. In recent years, top colleges like VIPS, MAIT, JIMS, MSI , etc., have had closing ranks much higher than 622 for these courses.
For example, Delhi candidates with ranks up to 1500–3000 have easily secured seats in these colleges and programs.
Fill out all top colleges and courses during counselling.
Prioritize based on your interest—seat allotment depends on preference and availability .
With your rank, you’re in a strong position to get into some of the best colleges under IPU.
Hi Yash,
You have secured a good ranking in your IPU exam. The notable top BBA colleges in IPU are VIPS (Pitampura), MAIMS (Rohini), MSIT (Janakpuri) and JIMS (Vasant Kunj).
Based on the previous year cut off for BBA which was around 2900 for 1st round, I believe you will most likely get admission in either VIPS or MSIT, so keep any of them on top as they are the best also the campus life is notably better.
If by any chance you do not get admission in either VIPS or MSIT put MAIMS the next one. You may also try your luck with GGSIPU main campus in Dwarka but the cut off for it is much lower so keep that in mind.
Your preference should be:
ALL THE BEST !
Hello,
For IPU MBBS counselling , the application form was already out from 1st to 20th February 2025. Now, the counselling process will begin after NEET 2025 results are declared. Since you have already filled the form, you just need to wait for the counselling schedule, which will be released on the official IPU admission portal. Keep checking your dashboard regularly for updates.
For Delhi University MBBS admission , there is no separate form. DU MBBS seats are filled through the MCC NEET UG counselling . The MCC counselling registration usually starts after the NEET results, which are expected around the end of June 2025. So, you need to register on the MCC portal once it opens and select DU colleges while filling your choices. Keep an eye on the official MCC website for the exact schedule and details.
Hope it helps !
DEAR STUDENT,
For candidates outside Delhi 15% of the total seats are reserved, and within this quota, Genaral EWS candidates are eligible criteria and possess a valid EWS certificate issued by the appropriate authority.

THANK YOU.
Hello Rakesh,
With a JEE Main score of 270317 , your chances of getting admission to a B.Tech ECE course in IPU ( Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University ) are low , but not impossible , especially if you are a Delhi resident . You should still apply and participate in the counselling process, focusing on filling your preferences strategically. Aim for colleges near Rohini, Delhi, and be prepared to consider other branches or even other universities if needed.
Thank you!!
Hi Hansika,
If your 12th status is appearing as "Appearing and still open in your IPU B. Tech counselling application and during correction window closed, don't worry. It basically do not impact your counselling process immediately, but you have to submit correct documents (mark sheet and passing certificate) during document verification. Otherwise, later on, your admission may be cancelled. You should try to get in touch with the IPU helpdesk mention your situation to them or call the admission office as soon as possible to get official advice.
Hello Harsheen,
Trinity Institute of Professional Studies (TIPS) in Dwarka offers several undergraduate courses, including BCA, BBA, BJMC, B.Com, and BA LLB (H) . TIPS is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) , and the degrees they offer are recognized. While the institute doesn't explicitly mention a specific faculty-to-student ratio, it emphasizes the importance of a seasoned faculty and a large student body, with an intake of nearly 1800 students . TIPS also offers value-added certifications and training programs.
Thank you!!!
Hello,
With a rank of 557 in GGSIPU’s biotechnology entrance exam, you're in a strong position to secure admission into the University School of Biotechnology (USBT) as it closed around rank 97 in 2024, 37 in 2023.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Hi Gourav,
No, you will not be entitled to the Defence quota in GGSIPU or JAC Delhi admissions if your father was a retired CISF officer without gallantry honour. The Defence quota in GGSIPU and JAC Delhi is primarily for children of Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) and never para-military forces such as CISF unless they also hold some gallantry awards (Shaurya Chakra, Vir Chakra, etc). Because the CISF is a part of the Ministry of Home Affairs and not Ministry of Defence, a retired CISF officer (not including any gallantry distinctions) will not be recognised as being eligible under Defence quota.
