Hello!

The best IITs for pursuing Mtech computer science are as follows:

  • IIT Bombay: it's the best of all. The academics and research are great in all the IITs, there's no doubt about it. But when it comes to placements IIT Bombay is ahead of all. It is in bombay, the economic capital of country so the best companies visit the campus.
  • IIT delhi
  • IIT kanpur
  • IIT Kharagpur
  • IIT Madras
  • IIT Hyderabad

I hope this helps. (Apart from IITs, IISc banglore is one of the bests for reasearch work)

Hello Priyom,

The choice between the two wholly depends on your interest in the specific field. If you are interested in space stuffs then IIST will be far better than any other college as it will give you a lot of exposure to ISRO but if you are interested in space and galaxies and also you are a bit of technology oriented person then you must go for IIT as it will give you a lot of exposure in technical field.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck!

Hello Sir

Your Statements seems to be  contradictory. I may be wrong but as far as i know you can't do Mtech in Aerospace by Appearing and scoring for GATE in ME.

If you wanted to do Mtech in Aerospace then you should have opted Aerospace Engineering (AE) Paper instead of ME. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Hello Aspirant,

As you perseved 74.67 percentile of marks in IIT jam geology in 2020 and you wanted to get seat in IIT bombay which is situated in Maharashtra state and it is among one in top 5 IITuniversities and you may or may not get seat in that IIT bombay but chances are very less according to your percentile of marks so study well and work hard to get good marks in the future examinations ALL THE BEST for your future and i think my suggestions and knowledge may be helpful to u.

Dear Aspirant,

To get into IIT-BOMBAY, you have to clear the JEE main and advanced exam and have to be in top 20 percentile in your respective board. That means roughly 75% in CBSE in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics + English + Elective(s).

Once you give the JEE main then after the result the rank list will come out and then the process of COUNSELLING will start. It is a process of filling the seats according to the rank you got and the preference you have.

let us understand this by an example, suppose there are three college, In Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

1. Mumbai College.

2. Delhi College.

3. Kolkata College. and you choose them in this preference. Each of the other students has also fill in the same order.

let us assume there are 100 seats in each of these college and there are total 300 seats and 300 students. Now according to the counselling all of the students want the Mumbai college first, and then Delhi and then Kolkata. then theoretically, the first 100 will get mumbai, and so on for Delhi and Kolkata. In this case if your rank is anywhere between 1-100 you can join mumbai college.

Now the actual counselling is same thing with around 40000 seats and 12 lakh candidates and some reservation is also there.

Hope this helps you understand counselling and answers your question on how you'll be able to get a college. All the colleges have this thing called opening and closing rank which is 1-100 for this hypothetical case here. You must check out the cutoff of the college you are interested in and you'll get the idea.

Thank you.
