Hi aspirant,

There are two modes of admission in BTech program at Sastra University which includes either on jee main+ 12th boards score or entirely on board's score. Look there is no cutoffs or minimum score criteria required for getting a seat. The admission procedure is completely done on merit basis through a counselling process. The percentage and choices preferences of candidates are collected and then verified before releasing the merit list. If you are among the top candidates aspiring for CSE with specialization in artificial intelligence and your merit number is above the total number of seats available, you will get it. Your chances are good considering the previous trends. The same procedure is applicable to all the courses, just fill the choices in order of your preferences.

Hello,

The marks you have scored in your board exam as well as entrance examination is quite impressive and for securing admission in Sastra Deemed Unusual you should have attempted entrance exam like JEE main, which you have done already. Talking about Sastra University it is one of the most recognised and reputed private Institution in India and also every year there is increase in students trying for admission hence, you can get an idea about the competition so you require a really good marks in your exam for getting seats of any top branches such as CSE, IT, etc. so in your case you might be difficulties for securing admission in top branches of Engineering but definitely you will better chance comparatively for getting admission, hence you have to make your decision wisely.

For more information regarding your percentile i will suggest you to convert it into rank so that it will be easy for you to compare your rank with cutoffs of different field than in Sastra Deemed University.

The link for calculating your rank id given below:

Thank you..

Hello Gracy,

As you have mentioned that you have got 854 marks in state board and you JEE mains percentile was 81 so, let me tell you that for admission in sastra University 30% weightage is given to 12th marks and 70% weightage is given to JEE mains percentile.

So, they would prepare a merit list on the basis of these scores and you will be admitted after that. So, it is not possible to predict the exact thing because it would depend on number of candidates appearing in the counselling, number of vacant seats in college.

Hello Aspirant

The admission in SASTRA University is based upon two streams:

Stream 1: 75% marks of class 12 boards and 25% marks of JEE mains is considered for ranking.
70% of the seats get filled with this stream.
As your percentile I'm JEE Mains is less, your rank will get increased.

If your class 12th percentage is around 90-95% and 80% in JEE Mains then you have good chances to get into SASTRA University.

Stream 2: Your rank is calculated based upon your class 12 percentage only.

30% seats get filled with this stream.
Since the number of seats is less will this stream, the competition is very high. To get into SASTRA through this stream, you need more than 95% in your class 12th boards.

- As your percentage in class 12 boards as well as in JEE Mains 2021 are good, so you have good chances to get into CSE branch from SASTRA University.

Hope this helps
All the best

Hello Aspirant,

To get into Sastra University, there is no particular cut off. Very good marks which is better than the other applicants is what is needed. But the process of sastra for admission includes two steps  through two streams :stream 1 and stream 2.

Stream 1: based on your boards marks (75% after normalisation) + JEE mains marks(25%).

Stream 2: based on 12th percentage , almost 30% seats of all the branches are filled through stream 2 .

Also the faster you fill the form the better are your chances of getting into the desired stream. And obviously good marks is what is needed.
You have good marks in 12th board and also very impressive percentile in jee mains so your chances of getting cse in Sastra University are quite high.

Good luck

Regards,

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you have got 440 marks in your 12th and taking into consideration that you have got 75.5 percentile in JEE mains 2021 and also considering you are from sc category, so let me tell you that you have fair chances in sastra University.

But it may vary depending on the conditions like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs, difficulty level of the paper.

Hello dear aspirant

There is no such criteria (minimum JEE marks) for admission in to SASTRA university. SASTRA university has a separate procedure through stream 1 and stream 2 .

Stream 1
70 percent seats of every branch are filled through stream 1 based on 12 th percentage ( 75 percent after normalisation ) + JEE mains score ( 25 percent )

For example
12 th percentage - 88 (CBSE) and JEE mains score is 80 .
Normalised percentage of board would be as follows
88 * 100/98.6 = 89.25
(Assuming percentage of topper is 98.6 )
Now 89.25 * 0.75 + 80 * 0.25 =86.94
This is your final score . AIR (SASTRA) is prepared based on this final score . There is a chance AIR up to 4000 .
If someone is a topper of board exam and his JEE mains score is 40 then final score would be 85 and AIR (SASTRA) would be above 5000 . It proves that there is no chance for JEE mains score below 40 in stream 1 .

Stream 2 .
30 percent seats of every branch are filled through stream 2 based on 12 th percentage .
There is very less chance for percentage below 95 in stream 2 .
I know your chances are less but your intermediate marks is good so you still stand a chance to get admission through stream 1.
I would recommend you to apply for SASTRA without any fear as I see a little possibility that you may get a seat there.

Hope this clears all your doubts!!

All the best for your future endeavours

Look there is no cutoffs or minimum score criteria required for getting a seat. The admission is completely done on merit basis through a counselling process where the following formula is used to calculate the candidates' score - (12th percentage * 0.75+jee main mark * 0.25). Well your chances are excellent as per the previous trends, adding to it your percentage in the senior secondary exams is phenomenally good.
