Hello

I think by considering your 12th exams you will not get seat in sastra university., actually my brother in two years back got 970/1000 he didn't get seat in that university, at that he said for the admission in the clg they need 980/1000 and full marks in groups.

I think they won't consider your jee mains marks.

All the best for your future., hope you will get admission in good institution.

Hey!

NIT Mizoram is a low ranked NIT and Sastra University has nirf ranking 31 which is far way better. Both universities provides good placement opportunities to students. But there is strict discipline guidelines in Sastra University as compared to the nit Mizoram. Faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in both campuses. But more exposure is provided in Sastra University and to compare, not Mizoram organizes many GIAN courses which are not available in many of private institutions.

Hope it helped to clear your delimma

Thank you

Dear student,

Not all NITs are better than SASTRA University.

While comparing colleges, it makes sense to compare based on aspects which are really important, than the rules and regulations.

SASTRA has stricter rules with respect to attendance and hostels. That is only reasonable. Quality of academics and research is obviously better at NIT.

At NIT Andhra Pradesh you can  get the tag of NITian.

It is the institute which has an average package of 5.87 LPA in the first out passed batch.

You can choose for yourself which one is better.

If any doubts feel free to use the comment section.

Hope this helps.

Hi,  sastra is deemed university  with lot of good courses   it is a good clg   but it has little bit high fees structure  but there is fees reimbursement for obc students  but medium placements  only Also  the college is in thanjavur all the best for your bright career.

Dear aspirant,

SASTRA is a deemed to be university .The admissions here are based strictly on merit.

There are 2 streams how one can get admission into the college .The 1 stream  is based on marks scored in JEE Main and +2 .(70% seats)

Whereas 2 stream is purely based on 12th marks.(30% seats).

There is no entrance exam for this college.

Good luck!

Hello Aspirant,

Yes you should apply for Sastra University as due to Covid situation, cut-offs are unpredictable and it'll definitely vary from last year.

If you won't apply then you won't he having any chances of selection so I'll suggest you to apply and wait, also don't rely on single college, keep backup colleges as well.

You have decent chance of conversions so you might apply.

Hope this information would be helpful for you.

All the best

Hello learner,

SASTRA Engineering College is a prominent deemed university known for its world class quality in academics  and research. SASTRA allocates seats based on 2 criteria, namely Stream 1 which holds 70% of seats and Stream 2 which holds the rest 30%.

Stream 1:

The weightage for +2 marks and JEE Mains score will be 75% and 25% respectively. The aggregate JEE Mains score and the normalized +2 Score will be taken into account. The normalization process is primarily based on the topper's score. But it may vary accordingly. The amalgamated score of all students will determine SASTRA Rank and the admission will be based on this rank criterion. There is a good chance to  get in if your SASTRA rank is up to 4000.

Stream 2:

30% of seats of each branch are filled through Stream 2. But hoping for this is uncertain.

Based on the above criteria, 75% of marks from your board marks is summed up, with the 25% of your JEE Mains score. Since, you've scored 75% in your boards, there are chances, where your rank may get back. So, your probability of getting in, will be based on the number of competitors and their scores. I would suggest you to, look up for alternate best colleges and not to entirely rely upon SASTRA. Since, you've appreciable percentile in JEE Mains, you can try for NITs too.

Good Luck!

College Infrastructure

My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean
