Hi dear,

Your rank is too high to get Computer Science and Engineering branch in Sastra University. The admission in various branches depends upon the cutoff of a branch and rank of the student. So you may get admission in Computer Science branch because it is most preferred branch these days.

Hope this helps

Hello Akash,

Your question is not clear do tell me clearly so that I can help you

All criterias are considered for your admission

Since it is university norms

All the best

Hii

Since you have a good rank in JEE so i think you should go with NIT'S rather than IIIT'S except IIIT Hyderabad , if you got that then it will be a better option in comparison with NIT'S . If you are unable to take over the desired seat in NIT'S then you should may switch over to BITS Mesra because it also has a good rank across the country. Coming to the point point of Sastra University i don't think so you should opt that college because you have various other good option available.

Good luck

Hey ,

Fill the admission form on the website .. http://sastra.edu/adm18/

hi krishna,

the admission in sastra is based on two ways one is jee mains rank+board exam marks (70% seats) , you donot have chance in this category since you have mentioned that you have not qulified in mains. the second is based only on the board marks (30% seats)  . there is no specific cutoff for this category .it depends on the student who scores the highest marks.

so, you have pretty good chances to get a seat in sastra university.

hope the information was helpfull

all the best:)

Hello Suraj,

There is no standard cut off for any courses. It differs yearly based on that years marks. As per previous year's counselling, you can get any branch at Satra since you have 95% in boards as Sastra's intake mainly depends on board marks.

All the best!

The academics part completely depends on the department you study in and the faculties who handle your subjects. If you are stuck with people who think providing more marks in an exam motivates the student to study well, you will grow up to become one of those who thinks it is cool to hate engineering. On the other hand, if you have people who actually motivate you to learn engineering and makes you realise your actual potential, these will be the best 4 years in your life.

All departments have research scholars. Choose your mentors wisely. Every department have planned sessions on topics related to their departments. Never miss those sessions to know what you are actually interested in (In case you haven't figured that out already).

Life at SASTRA purely depends on whether you are a day-scholar or a hosteler. My personal advice would be to choose to stay in hostel though your live nearby. The things you learn in your hostel will help you more in your life than the things you learn in your classrooms. Choose your roommates wisely. Also better be ready to lead a rather rough life with frequent power cuts, water scarcity, inedible food, unclean bathrooms and toilets and some highly irritating late night romantics.

There are some stupid rules that might seem irritating initially, but once you get used, they won't matter much. There are a few hostel wardens who think they own you just because they have the attendance register. Though you frequently get the uncontrollable feeling of punching them in the face, never argue with them or else they will do their best to make your life miserable.

There is the inevitable krishna canteen which sells absolutely delicious food at prices you can't even imagine. And canopy which also sells food but preferred mostly by couples as the food here is costlier and the place looks cooler.

Department fests, technical fests, cultural fests, though not as fancy and magnanimous as the other famous colleges, they do try their best to make it a hit and it does become one mostly. If you are talented enough and are friends with the previous organisers, you have a slight chance of making it to the organising team.

Hello Gangavajjala

Admission to college and branch is done on the basis of rank not marks as many candidates share same marks. Please mention your exact rank so we can help you chose accordingly

dear student,

I can tell you that RVCE is better…RV has the advantage of being the top college in Bangalore which is the Silicon Valley of India.. So placements for Cs and Ec branches will obviously be damn good.. On the other hand, Saastra university is located in a not-so-good city…The syllabus and the system in RV is of very high quality and student quality is also very good..The average package for Cs in 2016 was around 9 lpa, with the highest being 25lpa…Also, in Bangalore you get lots of internship opportunities and many hackathons take place in the city in colleges like PESIT, IIIT-B and IISc, which is a very good platform for coders to showcase and hone their skills.. So, in short if you get into RV CS and study hard, you will get out of the college with atleast two offers in hand.

hope it helps

Hi Suresh,

In Sastra University the main branches like ECE, Mech, EEE etc have around 250 seats each while Mechatronics has around 60 seats and E&I has around 100 seats.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck!
