Admissions are now open for the MBA Programme at LM Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala.
The college is very well maintained, it's very spacious, everything gets renovated after a few years, some of the newer blocks have A/C, the new buildings are of international quality, there is a huge amount of investment in the latest equipment like IMAC, sanitation wise the college is gr8 as well. i think Thapar is one of the best colleges in India with the latest and most amazing infrastructure and also challenging international colleges in some aspect
Thapar follows the same pattern as the IIT curriculum does, some of the professors are excellent, provide great guidance, and have a tremendous amount of knowledge but some are only par, the quality of assessments can be good as well, and students are more and more trying to learn from youtube and other education platforms and so the professors only teach from slides to teach faster which can be improved
placements every year can be hit or miss, in my year the placements were very good with everyone getting placed and some getting multiple packages as well, but recently markets have recalibrated after covid leading to layoffs, firing, and non-hiring of freshers which has impacted placements not only in thapar but other colleges as well. I have seen students not getting placed after college as well which is sad.
recently college fees have been increased which is making it only for rich parents affordability, so the value for money is decreasing
campus life is awesome, hostel rooms are terrific, they need to work on sports equipment more, like badminton and cricket
I would say the crowd at Thapar is also increasing every year, this happens in private colleges, the fees crossing 5L every year is something everyone needs to plan before taking in admission, and is that someone wants to invest in?
Good infrastructure, ac in most buildings, very green. Everything is well maintained. Hostels are good and clean. Food is above average. A lot of places to hang out. Beautiful parks and gardens every where
Teachers are good but might nit pay individual attention. Most of the studies are done on our own. It's easy to pass exams , marking not very tough. It's easy to maintain cg above 8 even if you study last minute
Median package is good and most people get placed in computers. But recession might be a problem. Bare minimum preparation is made available for placements by college, you have to study on your own only
Amazing buildings! Spacious classrooms and labs, with all the necessary equipment. Hostels are also very well maintained and looked after. Hygienic food and also lots of food chains available. Very good experience.
Outstanding professors and all faculty! The teachers are very helpful and pretty smart. The quality of teaching is excellent. The curriculum helped me a lot in later job opportunities and the employment training course was also a great help.
A pretty high number of students are placed annually. The average salary offered is also quite good for starter packages. There were also a few job training and preparation workshops conducted in order to better aid the students.
The fees is a bit on the higher side, but is not that high considering the number as well as the quality of facilities provided. Also, there are a number of scholarships available to help students pay the fees.
The campus life is pretty exciting! Lots of singers, actors, and stand-up comedians are invited regularly in order to freshen up the stressful atmosphere. The students and staff is very helpful, and so are the professors.
There is all necessary infrastructure facilities and equipment Good classrooms Laboratories equipped with good equipment massive library good and finest hostels everything is well maintained clean and hygiene env
Computer Science good quality of teaching curriculum as per ugc many research projects going on under the guidance of professors dedicated dev and researchers group study lagss some points to makr job ready
Placement is low for 2024 batch but still overall companies coming is good avg is around 10lakhs good avg ctc but intake is low more than half batch is unplaced so worrying still situation will improve and happen
The infrastructure is really good with a lot food options and the facilities near by are very good as well due to the central location the shopping complex inside the campus is very good caters to all the daily needs
academics at Thapar are very good the professors are very supportive and helpful the course structure is very good the courses taught are very well aligned to the current industry trends are very informative and makes the students ready for industry
The on-campus placement scene is very smooth the information from the companies is relayed out very well and conveyed properly the offline test facilities are very good the placement cell is very supportive throughout the entire process
Good option for engineering
The laboratories, classes are equipped with latest technology and equipment and are well maintained .The infrastructure is very good and the hostels are clean and the food is amazing. The sports Centre are well equipped and provide various opportunities for students to participate in different sports.
Thapar provides excellent education the quality of teaching is amazing the curriculum is updated according to the latest trends and the students are provide with latest on going technology and various projects.
Thapar has an impressive record in placements with top MNC's like amazon, apple, JPMC the highest package in 2023 was INR 55 LPA and the average package was INR 10.5 LPA thus 90% students are placed every year.
Yes college has all the facilities. There are well equipped labs with all necessary components to carry out project work.Labs are all well maintained. Food is hygienic and the places are clean in the college.
I am currently pursuing Electronics and Computer Engineering as i have interest in software side and also wanted to explore the hardware side of things. The curriculum is updated .We have to make ourselves job ready by our self efforts.
The placement season is going in a little slow pace in the college. Nearly 25% students are placed .The average salary is around 10lpa.Due to recession placements are effected a little but some good companies are coming in college.
The college has all the necessary facilities with well equipped classrooms and hostels. All of the premises are clean and hygenic. All the facilities are regularly used and are well maintained by the college authorities.
I am an Electronics and Computer engineering student. The quality of teaching is quite good and the professors are quite friendly. The curriculum is frequently updated according to the requirements of the industry to make each student job-ready
Placements are slightly above average. The average package offered is around 8-9 lakhs. This year due to recession the placements were below average but generally they are good. Around 150 companies visit the campus every year. And around 96% students are placed every year.
Infrastructure of the college is inconsistent for different branches. The Computer Science classes are taken in these huge newly constructed building with advanced labs and central air conditioning. The situation of other branches is completely different.
The teachers are not really bothered to teach properly and there's no uniformity in the material of different subjects. Some will give ppts, some will not. Some will just give books, some will take attendance the others won't care about it.
The placements from the college are especially disappointing this year. There is a general notion of us heading into a recession causing companies to take precaution, making companies hire in lower numbers, but somehow our college has taken a much bigger hit than any other comparable college. Even college which are a tier below, are able to cope better with the situation.
Nice infrastructure...worth the money...love the infrastructure....All the infrastructure is well maintained and provided to students as per their requirements. Huge funding are provided for startups.
The curriculum is carefully designed as per the needs of the industry.... Overall well designed course and regularly updated. NAAC-approved accreditations for future needs and the course is well understandable by students.
The overall placements are excellent. Thapar supports students very well and we are being provided with the best packages even in times of recession. Well maintained student records with some of the best known companies visiting the campus for placements.
Totally value for money. Also, many scholarships are available to students both based on merit as well as financial needs. Hostels are built with the best facilities including a gym and nice mess food.
Nice campus with different sports facilities available. One of the best libraries in the northern region. A digital books are also being available for the students. Many fests are arranged every year for the students and different sports meets are also organised.

Hello,
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Thapar University) offers B.E./B.Tech admissions through two modes:
For B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering, admissions consider NEET scores or Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Thapar University does not conduct a separate entrance exam for these programs.
Hope it helps !
