Hi Sarapuraju,
You have a good chance to get a seat at Sastra University for ECE by stream 2. If you have got good JEE Mains percentile than you may also apply with stream 1.
The admission is based on two ways:
Stream 1: JEE main marks + board exam marks (70% seats)
Stream 2: only board exam marks (30% seats)
There is no specific cut off to get a seat in SASTRA University. It depends on the student who scores the highest marks. If you have appeared for JEE Mains then apply under stream 1. If your board exam marks are 90-95% and JEE main marks are between 50-120 then you can get admission under stream 1.
For stream 2, your board exam marks should be at least above 85-90% to get a seat and if it is more than 95% you can get a good course.
Hope it was useful to you and your query was resolved.
Feel free to contact us for any queries.
All the best :)

Hi Sampu,
You have a good chance to get a seat at Sastra University but ECE is not sure.

Hello harshitha,
There is no such criteria ( minimum JEE marks) for admission in to SASTRA university . SASTRA university has a separate procedure through stream 1 and stream 2 .
Stream 1 .
70 percent seats of every branch are filled through stream 1 based on 12 th percentage ( 75 percent after normalisation ) + JEE mains score ( 25 percent )
For example
12 th percentage - 88 (CBSE) and JEE mains score is 80 .
Normalised percentage of board would be as follows
88 * 100/98.6 = 89.25
( Assuming percentage of topper is 98.6 )
Now 89.25 * 0.75 + 80 * 0.25 =86.94
This is your final score . AIR (SASTRA) is prepared based on this final score . There is a chance AIR up to 4000 .
If someone is a topper of board exam and his JEE mains score is 40 then final score would be 85 and AIR (SASTRA) would be above 5000 . It proves thatthere is no chance for JEE mains score below 40 in stream 1 .
Stream 2 .
30 percent seats of every branch are filled through stream 2 based on 12 th percentage .
There is very less chance for percentage below 95 in stream 2 .
Thank you.
Hello,
"Yes" you will get '
Sastra Deemed University will offer admission in 2019 under the following two streams:
Through stream 1:
Admissions to 70% of the seats will be made through stream 1 on the basis of JEE Main scores and normalized scores of the 10+2 or equivalent exam.
The 25% weightage will be given to JEE Main scores and the remaining 75% will be given to marks scored in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
The combined scores will be used to prepare the rank list and candidates will be invited for admission on the basis of the rank list.
Through stream 2:
The remaining 30% of the seats will be filled through stream 2
Only 10+2 (or equivalent) normalized scores will be considered while preparing the rank list of stream 2.
Candidates can apply through both the streams. In case, a candidate has not appeared for JEE Main 2019 exam and has applied for stream 1, the weighted score for the 25% will be considered 0 but the qualifying exam aggregate scores will be given 75% weightage to arrive at the combined score. However, in case of stream 2, the qualifying exam scores will be given 100% weightage.
Thank you.

Hello there,
If you ask on which basis comparison is to be made between the two then definitely one would look at placement scenarios of both colleges to get a realistic figure of where they stand. As for KL University, highest package goes to about 18 to 20 lpa. Average package being somewhere betwwen 4-5 lpa. Speaking for Sastra University, highest package was by Paypal which was 22lpa and average package somewhere around 3.5 to 4 lpa. Both have 90% placement stats. Good colleges to apply again depends on the work you put in. Best of luck and hope this answer helps!
My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean
laboratories for bio tech and other related departments are very good and high tech here. Hostels are non ac full vegetarian, managable. wifi is 24/7 available. the environment is good for studying here.
It's average college, having wifi facilities like high tech laboratory. Bajaj and 5 g labs are there. Each building of department have different own laboratories. Hostels are non ac, but can manage. Wifi is 24/7.
