Hi Teja,
I am very sorry to say that you have a low chance to get a seat in Sastra University. yet, you should not lose your hope and try by stream 1.
The admission is based on two ways:
Stream 1: JEE main marks + board exam marks (70% seats)
Stream 2: only board exam marks (30% seats)
There is no specific cut off to get a seat in SASTRA University. It depends on the student who scores the highest marks. If you have appeared for JEE Mains then apply under stream 1. If your board exam marks is 90-95% and JEE main marks is between 50-120 then you can get admission under stream 1.
For stream 2, your board exam marks should be at least above 85-90% to get a seat and if it is more than 95% you can get a good course.
Hope it was useful to you and your query was resolved.
Feel free to contact us for any queries.
All the best :)
Hi Manda,
I am very sorry to say that you have a low chance to get CSE branch in Sastra University due to your board GPA. Still, you should not lose your hope and try by stream 1.

It's very difficult to get a CSE in SASTRA. But you can try some rare courses like EIE , mech, etc.
It is not based on TN cut off. It is respected with the total mark.
Hello. Sastra University has a criteria that you should have minimum of 60% in boards and at least 25% of Jee mains to get admission in sastra college. I think you have that much of marks. So don't worry you will get admission into this college. All the best for your future.
Dear,
There are two criterias by which SASTRA follow for admissions and those are as follows:-
1. 70% of the seats are reserved under the first criteria.Admissions are given on taking weightage of 25% JEE mains marks and 75% of the 12th boards.
2.Remaining 30% are reserved under the second criteria. Admissions are totally based upon the boards marks. So for this you should have a very good percentage in 12th boards which should be around 95 or 95+ to secure a seat.
Hello Abhinav
SASTRA:
Pros
-Very Good in Discipline.(Attendence is must to have and other rules)
-Quality of Students is good as admission is purely merit-based.
-Good Brand and social recognition. It is like BITS, pilani of Thanjavur.
-Research oriented and practical Education.
-Good Placements.
-Mechanical Engineering used to be the best branch in SASTRA for placements.Hope it is still the best.
-Low fees compared to other pvt. colleges.
-Few Institutes abroad prefer SASTRA students for admissions in higher degrees. It is because of the MOUs signed.
Cons
-Useless classes. Not much to learn. Most of the times neither teachers nor students are willing to learn.
-Very few Core companies came for ECE during my stay.
About VIT only few things that I know:
-Very good infrastructure
-Huge Brand popularity is there but it is mostly because of the ads they give.
-Anyone can get admission in VIT if he/she has money in his Pocket,( which is very difficult in SASTRA as there is no Management Quota for admissions there.)
But, few good students are also there in VIT and most of them come through merit.
-Placement should not be a problem for VIT .Who would like to pay them heavily otherwise if they don't keep up their promises. Still, it is not the quantity of placements rather the quality that matters ! Most of the students are recruited in bulk recruiting companies like TCS,Infy,CTS etc.(This is a problem with SASTRA as well)
Hello aspirant
Percentile is not required for Sastra
It take admission based on two factors
Hope this helps
Good luck
My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean
laboratories for bio tech and other related departments are very good and high tech here. Hostels are non ac full vegetarian, managable. wifi is 24/7 available. the environment is good for studying here.
It's average college, having wifi facilities like high tech laboratory. Bajaj and 5 g labs are there. Each building of department have different own laboratories. Hostels are non ac, but can manage. Wifi is 24/7.
