With your mentioned rank it is highly unlikely for you to get into NITs or IIITs. You could still apply for the josaa counselling process and try your luck. But I would suggest you to try for state level engineering colleges which accept JEE main scores. You could get good colleges and your desired branch. sorry to disappoint you that your rank in jee mains is 156970 which is not enough to get admission in core branch in vssut

but you can get admission in any private college or either you can get admission in upper private college but fees will be high..

See the rank u have secured might give you a chance to get into the lower seats in the college to pursue ur higher studies in the field of ur interest under the btech courses. U can also apply for other private colleges and take some concession on the fees structure for ur btech career. I m providing u a link for ur help.

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology is one of the prominent institute of engineering in Odisha,so you have to achieve good rank in JEE main,mainly for mechanical engineering and computer science.The cut off ranks for admission is

• Mechanical Enginnering- between 60000 and 70000
• Computer Science and Engineering- between 50000 and 70000
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering- 90000
• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering- 140000
• Industrial and Production Engineering- 150000
• Chemical Engineering- 220000
• Civil Engineering- 150000

All of these ranks are for general and OBC student as there is no OBC quota in Odisha education system.

You are eligibile for colleges accepting JEE results only if you are or SC or ST category as they require only 65% in 12th board exam but if you are of general or OBC category then you are not eligibile for colleges under JEE Mains as they require 75% in boards.

After securing JEE Main ranks, you will have to apply through OJEE for admissions into VSSUT Sambalpur. It may be difficult for you to join in government college as you may not satisy the eligibility criteria.

If you have JEE main above or equal to the JEE main Categorical Cutoff then you can take admission along with 10+2 with physics,chemistry,mathematics or passed from HSC Board Examiination i.e. Odisha Board.

You can apply for admission in the official site of VSSUT college only.
