Hello student, Greetings from Careers360.com!
With a rank of 60,183 in the OBC category, it becomes difficult to secure a seat in the Thapar university, when comparing the results of the previous years as the closing rank for HS is around 40,000 and OS is 20,000. However you can predict the colleges which you are likely to get using the following link:

Good luck!

Hello Aspirant,
According to previous year data and trends, we can predict the following information regarding your query.
You cannot get admission in Thapar university only on the basis of Jee main marks their are some eligibility criteria which involves your board percentage too.
There should be at least 60% Aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12th class for General Candidates. For SC or ST category candidates the Aggregate marks should be 55%.
Talking about JEE Mains marks
For general category candidates, the marks should be above 72 - 75 marks in JEE Mains.
For SC or ST candidates, the marks should be above 48 - 50 in JEE Mains
If you satisfy any of the above criteria you can easily get admission into Thapar University.
All the best!
I’d say when you talk about CS, saying placements are great is an understatement. Let me tell you one thing, if you’re a CS student at Thapar University with a decent enough GPA, you will surely get a job. Till date, people from CS have around 80 offers (give or take 10) while we still have some very good companies like Samsung, blustacks, etc to come. Not only this, there are people who even right now have multiple offers. CS placements in the university are huge, it depends upon you which company you crack. Almost all of my friends in CS are placed right now.
Hope this will work!
Well, no doubt Thapar Institute has been outstanding and has out shown several Govt. colleges and other private colleges too. Thapar University was established in 1956 and is situated in Patiala. Since then, it has been responsible for delivering quality engineers who are doing well for themselves here and in abroad too. Moreover, it has been accredited ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. National Institute Ranking Framework, MHRD, Government of India has ranked 26th for their placements. The institute offers undergraduate programme leading to Bachelor of Engineering degree and postgraduate programmes leading to Master of Engineering and Master of Technology (M.Tech.).
Thapar is definitely unmatched, unparalleled and has established itself as one of the best colleges not only in Punjab but in India.
Cheers.
Hi aniket,
Congratulations for your performance in exam. At this percentile there is chance to get in thapar university punjab and also outside punjab campus.
For general category student as per the last year closing cutoff for
CS-40895
ECE-143705
This cutoff is for general category in punjab campus of thapar university. So you have chance to grab college.
All the very best for admission and you can ask query if you have any.
Thank you
Many facilities provide by college lab is very good and working well, classroom is very good and library is also provided by college and you can take any book in your course. Many facilities provided in our hostel food is average and canteen is also available in our hostel medical facilities is also available in our hostel.
The coursework is decent, they try to make them familiar with each technology one by one. Classrooms are good, and the campus is big. Hostels are also good but overpriced. The food in the mess is not very good and is also overpriced.
Infrastructure of the college is just okay. Buildings look very old and don’t justify the fees charged. The Labs for our branch are the worst. Wi-Fi connectivity is good overall. The college library is decent. The classrooms are very nice up to 2nd year but after that we will get a normal school type classroom.
