Of course my college has good infrastructure facilities, all different practical labs etc. Yes we do have wifi facility, library facilities and other required facilities. Good hygiene maintenance is available in the college
All the teachers are qualified. Semester exams are conducted strictly. Exams are difficult but not that much. If you are attending all classes and daily along with your work loads you can score more marks. Time management is the key so learn and prepare yourself before knowing about the difficult level of exams
The quality of placements is quite average. Average placements placing can be 5-6 lakhs. The dean is not so supportive of the students. There is more importance given to attendence and theory study than practical and training.
I feel that my college has a good infrastructure from interior and exterior both and it has all the necessary facilities. The labs are well maintained. However, I feel that the food served is hygienic enough.
The facilities of our college are very talented and professionally trained and very helpful toward us. Students are provided with notes. They are highly trained to make us understand every topic with the least difficulty.
Almost 55-80% of students get placed every year. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. The highest salary package offered varies between 10 LPA - 16 LPA. Many top recruiting companies visit our college for recruitment.
We have very good labs and infrastructure facilities. We have a physical library as well a virtual library, with a wide range of books available. We have a huge ground, indoor games room, basketball court, and a very good canteen. The food is very good.
Academics is also nice. The curriculum followed is so good. There are many courses, learning offered and many exams are offered is the best thing about college. The teachers and trainers are also very experienced.
Since the day I started my classes in this university just from that time I am getting a lot of good placements and internships offers in really big companies continuously and I am really grateful for that only because of this college.
The campus is located 22 kilometers northeast of Kozhikode, Kerala, India, along the Kozhikode–Mukkam Road. NIT Calicut offers modern facilities, including Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and classrooms. The library operates 24/7, providing access to a vast collection of resources. Hostel facilities are available.
Faculty members employ advanced teaching methods, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for better understanding and learning. Smart work is encouraged. The curriculum for B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering includes general and basic computer programming.
The quality of placements is pretty good. The highest package offered is around 10 LPA, while the lowest is approximately 7 LPA. Our seniors and faculty helped a lot during the process of placement and management is supportive too.
Facilities and infrastructure are available, like Wi-Fi; labs and classrooms are available; and the library is available 24/7. The hostel facility is average. Food is not that good in a mess. Rooms are very small; in the first year, we used to accommodate five people in one room. And medical facilities are there but not that good. Sports and games are okay.
A chemical engineering course is generally composed of different contents, such as general, organic and physical chemistry, calculus-based Physics and differential equations. In basic computer programming, the faculty are highly qualified, the faculty ratio is large enough for the class size, and the teaching methods are advanced, like using AI for better understanding and grasping. Smart work is preferred by the faculty. Exams are wisely conducted as id term and end term, so that students can easily grasp the contents.
In my department [electronics], there are no core placements. My friends got jobs in IT along with SDE jobs being offered in our course. The highest package in our department is 10LPA and the lowest is 7LPA. 2-3% people got internships as well as jobs. I am only dissatisfied about my course as are is no core placements. Overall, the education is good. The professors’ behaviour is good and they are also very friendly
Good college.
As a student at NIT Calicut , I've found the infrastructure and facilities to be commendable. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities such as smart boards and high-speed WiFi, enhancing the learning experience. Laboratories are well-stocked with the latest equipment, fostering hands-on experimentation and research. The library boasts a vast collection of resources, both digital and physical, catering to diverse academic needs. Sports centers offer ample opportunities for physical activity and recreation. Hostel accommodations are clean and well-maintained, providing a conducive environment for living and studying. The food served is hygienic and nutritious, meeting dietary requirements. Overall, the college ensures that all facilities are utilized efficiently and maintained to a high standard, contributing positively to the academic and personal development of students
As a student, I am currently studying MBA, driven by its dynamic nature and vast career opportunities. The quality of teaching at my college is commendable, with dedicated faculty members who strive to impart both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. However, there's room for improvement in updating the curriculum to reflect the latest developments in the field. While the foundational concepts remain robust, incorporating recent advancements ensures relevance and prepares students for real-world challenges. Despite this, the curriculum equips us with essential skills, making us partially job-ready upon graduation. Overall, my college provides a solid educational foundation, but could enhance its curriculum by integrating more recent innovations and practical applications to better prepare students for the rapidly evolving tech industry
The quality of placements at my college has been quite satisfactory. A significant percentage of students were successfully placed, with approximately 80% securing employment in reputable companies. The highest salary package offered was 400,000 per annum, and it went to a graduate from the computer science course. The average salary offered stood at 35,000 per annum across various disciplines. The placement process was relatively smooth and organized, facilitated by the college's supportive staff who provided guidance and resources for interview preparation. Overall, while there's room for improvement in expanding the scope of placements to more industries and enhancing networking opportunities, my college's efforts in securing job placements for its students are commendable. With adequate support and resources, students can navigate the job market effectively, ensuring a promising start to their careers.
The course costs about 2,40,000 for 4 semesters and the hostel fees ia bout 40k per sem. The hoatel facilities for Post Graduate students is worth.
My college campus boasts a blend of modern facilities and serene surroundings. Its best feature is the lush greenery and well-maintained infrastructure, providing a conducive environment for learning and relaxation. However, the lack of sufficient parking space remains a drawback. Students can engage in a variety of activities, from joining clubs and societies to participating in sports tournaments and cultural events, fostering a vibrant campus life. The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, while the support staff ensures smooth functioning of administrative processes. Located in a bustling yet safe area, the campus offers easy access to amenities and transportation. Emergency protocols are in place, with trained personnel equipped to handle any unforeseen situations effectively. Overall, my college provides a fulfilling campus experience, combining academic rigor with extracurricular opportunities, in a safe and accessible environment.
Department of management studies of NITC is in south campus. The entire south campus hosts about 3 departments in same block, but primarily its for MBA. Classroom facilities are really good, given the fact that its a government institute. All classrooms have ACs, projectors and quality seating arrangements. There is a small library within the department, but the size of department library is of no concern , because there exist a central library of world class quality few distance away from the campus. Hostels are good. Campus has a canteen and good wifi setup. There is a ground in south campus, but used to play there and its not that much maintained. Its a clean campus.
With respect to MBA, most of the faculties have done their PhDs from premier institutes of the country. Curriculum has been updated recently. Teaching wise, I would say its ok. There are many relevant topics covered in the coursework which can help you become job ready.
Placements in NITC as a whole is good but for MBA it still needs to be better. Placement stats are available in the department website. But mostly the median package lies around 9 lakhs per annum. Placement processes are systematic and handled carefully.
When it comes to the ROI part, I would say the MBA from NITC does offer good ROI. The fee paid per year is somewhere more than 1 lakhs (excluding the hostel and mess fees). So in total, the entire course for 2 years might cost between 3-4 lakhs. Since the placements offer good packages, more than the fee paid, the ROI part is great.
NITC is a vibe. Main campus always has something going on. When it comes to the south campus, mostly its calm and quiet, but that's because there are only few students there compared to the main campus. There is bus service from main campus to south campus. Its free and students can take it to go back and forth. From hostels however, its somewhat long but walkable distance. Teachers are good. There would be some events happening in south campus then and now. The main event is the management fest. Other than that there used to be conclaves, exhibitions etc.
Those who are looking for MBA but with low fee and in Kerala, NITC is a good option. The campus is little far from the main campus but you will get used to it. Department has active student community who are currently working to bring the MBA of NITC in limelight. Their active participation in events have started gaining attention within NITC and outside.
Our college has all the necessary facilities and equipments. The classrooms are all equiped with projectors. The central library has all the reference material you will need. There is digital library as well. Additionally each department has its own library. There is a CCC where internet and computer access is available.
I studied M.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Systems. The quality of teaching is good. The faculty keep up the standard of teaching as well as examinations. Curriculum is well fitted to equip us with modern day developments in the industry. The lab work especially is usefull in our job as well.
The quality of placement is very good. Above 90% of students were placed from our batch. The placement cell has a single offer policy, so once you are placed in a company you cannot sit for any other placement opportunities (even with higher salary packages). Also, our college was very supportive to allow all the students to pursue internship at the companies in our final year.
The course cost about 80 thousand rupees per year. The amount that we pay is just right and the exposure that we get to the companies via placement cell is commendable.
The college campus is vibrant with various cultural, and sport activities. The cultural and technical fests are very eclectic. The teachers are helping. The location is safe and there is a health centre in the campus itself for any emergencies.
The richness of NITC is described by its novel projects and innovations. These are well documented in their own libraries as well as demonstrated in various conferences and technical fests.
excellent infrastructure with separate departments for every branch, very good laboratories with great required equipment. wi-fi is available in every corner of the campus, we have large grounds for respective sports and hostels are great with good ventilation with very hygienic food mess.
I am studying chemical engineering as I am very much interested to work in petroleum sectors. Teachers are more than capable and very good at connecting and helping students while studying there with all assignments and projects. Curriculum will be up to date every year with addition of new courses and new syllabus along with the new developments in field. Our prepared curriculum includes the courses which makes us job ready
Placements are very good with around more than 150 companies. Each branch will be having good amount of companies attending with lump sum amount of salaries. Highest package offered is 48lpa for computer science engineering. average salary offered is 10lpa.
50-60k course per semester, and i feel every rupee of money i spent is worth.
College life will be filled with different club events and two fests with cultural fest ragam and technical fest tathva . students can join in any club and sport following the process
I personally enjoyed my college life with including both education and entertainment. i tried to participate in most of events that happens in our college
The clg has really good infrastructure. All departments have necessary lab facilities whenever and wherever required. The hostels facilities are Excellent. Libraries and other facilities provided to nurture the excellent minds of the future.
All the teachers are professional, experts and experienced in their respective fields. The curriculum is updated as per the current industry standards. Readings and self improvement will be encouraged
For last few years, many top performing companies are recruiting from the campus. The selected students were always top performers of the companies and many are offered high packages. Necessary training has provided and to the students as per their proficiency levels
Hello Mr. Bini,
Considering your son's rank in JEE Main (3715 in General category, Maharashtra), here below is the categorization that might help you narrow down the options:
CSE in NIT Calicut (or Other NITs):
ECE in IIIT Hyderabad:
ECE in NIT Warangal/Surathkal/Trichy/Rourkela:
If the emphasis is on core tech roles and software engineering, get him a place in CSE at a top NIT (ideally Trichy, Warangal, or Surathkal). If there is a willingness to accept a comprehensive, research-based academic program, with future scope in core tech, AI or higher studies, then ECE at IIIT Hyderabad could be the best long term option. Do not opt for lower-tier NITs if you can get him into one of these higher tier institutes.
With an OBC-NCL rank of 22,373 , getting admission to NIT Calicut is unlikely , as the closing ranks for most branches in previous years were much lower.
For example:
CSE : ~2,846
ECE : ~3,551
Consider exploring other NITs or use the Careers360 JEE Main College Predictor for a better estimate. Let me know your home state for more specific guidance.
It's difficult to say definitively whether a 94.4148 percentile in JEE Main, with home state, OBC, and female quota, will guarantee a BTech Physics seat at NIT Calicut. While a 94 percentile is a good score, it's not a guarantee of admission to a specific program at a specific NIT.
The final cutoff ranks and percentiles for NIT Calicut vary from year to year and are influenced by factors like the overall JEE Main performance, the number of applicants, and the number of seats available.
Your percentile needs to be converted to a rank, which is what is used for seat allotment during the JoSAA counselling process.
Home state quotas can significantly impact your chances, as seats are reserved for students from the state where the NIT is located.
These quotas further influence seat allocation, and the impact on a program like BTech Physics will depend on the specific number of reserved seats and the overall demand for that program.
I suggest you to use JEE predictor tool which will help you to know your chances in nit Calicut .
