Yes, my college has a lot of facilities including good laboratories, clean classrooms and sports centers. Our college also provides good hostels including tasty mess foods. But the library facilities of our college is not that much good, there are no enough books which is in our syllabus and also there is no enough copies and existing copies are of an older edition. There is both indoor and outdoor facilities for sports activities.
The quality of teaching is good in our department. But even though, some of the subjects are taught by the visiting faculties who don't have proper teaching skills. Also, even some permanent staff don't cover the portions properly. So overall academics is just ok and it's not up to the national institute level.
The placement of our department is also not up to the national institute level. only 60% percent of students will be got on-campus placements, but that is not with a satisfactory salary. NIT campus is providing less number of placement.
The fees of the course are only 1.8 lakh totally, which is less compared to other MBA colleges in Kerala. Even with this salary, they offer placement of an average of 5 LPA, which has a high ROI. Students can avail scholarship opportunities.
The experience of the college is really good because there is a lot of good events and a lot of activities in the college. Students will get a lot of opportunities to participate in different activities, and everyone can utilize the college facilities.
NIT Calicut has a separate MBA department in the name SOMs, we have very good infrastructure right from good library, AC class rooms to computer lab. Wi-fi facility is available for all the students. Well maintined cleaned class rooms.
I am an MBA student specialised in HR and Systems. We have a good set of proficient teachers and also the opportunity of dual specialisation that is to take to streams as our major is a plus. Curriculum is good but not much updated.
Placements are mostly from IT firms. 90% of the students get placed other 10% would be mostly interested in business or would have been sebatic leave. Highest salary was approximately around 10 lakh per annum for the previous batch, that went for Finance & Systems. Placement process is easy and college provides good support.
ROI is very good. Annual fee would be approximtely 90000/- and definitely what we receive is more worth.
Campus life is really very nice. We get a good atmosphere to study. Lots of events like Tarang, Ragam are there. We also have many other student engaging activities.NIT is located 20 km away from railway station. Its safe. The campus is large and there is a small junction near by where you get to by all the things required. and also have hospitals near by.
Classrooms are equipped with hybrid mode of teaching. The block has an own internal library and basic necessities like printing, Xerox etc. Sports complex is also available with indoor Badminton court, swimming pool, Table tennis etc. Multiple hostels available too, separate hostels for girls and boys and separate mess for each too. Only a small concern would be the mess charges, the hostel charge is low, but the mess charges a bit high.
I am pursuing MBA in order to prioritize my position in the government sector. The quality of teaching is excellent. Faculties have pre-experience of the market and are aware of the current status too. No compromise in teaching as the faculties are recruited by a central board of the government.
The pandemic had caused a dent but even then the students of MBA were able to get a considerable package, please visit our website to know the exact details as I am not sure which is the highest. Companies like TCS, TechM, EY, SBI, Deloitte, Amazon etc. do visit and offer managerial roles.
The best VFM college for MBA, the ROI is really great, for an investment of 2-3 lakhs for 2 years, you can earn upto 14-15 lakhs of package, depending upon your ability.
Cannot comment much on this as 2020-21 was a pandemic year and most of the studies happened online, however, people who chose to stay in campus for the 2nd semester truly enjoyed being there, the atmosphere is calm and majestic, the location is scenic and lush green.
The faculties are really great, they are friendly and they take no time to understand the type of skill set you possess and where you would be suitable in. Lastly, the tag of studying in an NIT always gives a classic feeling of studying in a premier government institute. Considering the above details and ROI, it is one of the best colleges I would recommend. LinkedIN URL: www.linkedin.com/in/arpitsonkar
The college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. The classrooms and hostel infrastructure are good. There are other facilities such as sports centers, library and they are well maintained. The living spaces are clean and the food provided is also hygienic.
I am pursuing MBA from School of Management studies, NIT Calicut. The faculties are well qualified and quality of teaching is good here. It makes a student ready for the job. It is also ensured that the students are understanding every concept and are able to apply in real life scenario by going through various case studies.
For the placement part, it is good. But it can be made better. Most of the students are placed from previous batch. And all reputed companies are coming to the campus with very good packages. I am sure that in the future, more companies will come to the campus and the placement rate will be 100%.
The fees for MBA at NIT Calicut is quite affordable. It is less that 3 Lakh. So, yes the ROI is very good.
Due to Covid-19, I did not get a chance to go the campus as of now. Online classes are going on. I think we will go there for the coming semesters.
As of now, overall experience is good.
It was a great experience as this college has everything, from a world-class swimming pool to the state-of-the-art gym, you just name it and it is there. Libraries are filled with enough books. A lush and large campus is the hallmark of NIT Calicut. Hostel and classrooms are wide, open, and airy. The parking space is enough large to accommodate vehicles of day scholars and staff.
The curriculum is designed to match the expectations of the industries. All the professors are treasure troves of their respective filed. Industry experts are called regularly to motive the students and enlighten them about the current trends.
The placement of undergraduate courses is absolutely amazing. For PG, It is OK but progressing a lot with each passing year. The placement figure can not be revelated at the moment as it is still going on. However, the past figures are encouraging and put NIT Calicut in the league of high-rated colleges of India.
With such affordable fees and high-quality education, this college has a high return on investment.
The campus life is absolutely amazing, Every arrangement is made to ensure students have a healthy, calm, peaceful, and enjoyable stay at the campus.
Due to pandemic and lockdown I was not able to visit college in person but what I came to know from my friends is that the facilities provided in the campus like lab, library, hostels, mess, play area all those well maintained and of good quality. Food variety quality ,and mess hygiene is highly appreciated by them.
I am currently pursuing MBA .Ofcourse there are certain limitations due to the current online mode of teaching. We have experienced and dedicated professors in our department. Our to the current situation the course is more focused on theory part .
For a fresher the quality of placements provided in the college is appreciable.More than 60 percentage of the students get placements through the college placement cell. Federal bank,TCS,Esaf, Deloitte etc are some of the companies .
Rate of investment of mba course In nit Calicut is affordable and per semester we have to pay only 35k.
there are excellent facilities both in the campus and hostel, like the gym, ATM, and multiple sports ground for different sports activities. our college also has a well-built hostel, mess food served is excellent.
I'm pursuing master of business administration, and the quality of teaching is good. and curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the business field. what's thought there makes us job-ready.
when compared to engineering courses, placements for management students are less but still, it's pretty good. the average salary offered is 6lacs. the placement process is very easy and pleasant. and the college is very supportive.
value for money is very high as the fees are very less, comparing other b-schools. it is 1.56 lacs which is very little for an MBA. and its worth all the money, considering the facilities and faculties are excellent.
Since it's been online I couldn't get a chance of experience in real. But I get to know through my classmates who are near to the college and have been in college for couple of days. The facilities are too good with peaceful environment. And yes our college has all which stated above.
I'm doing my MBA since it's my part of career as I'm interested in doing management courses especially to get specialized in Marketing and Finance. I don't completely ensure that the curriculum is updated , yes it do include most of the recent developments. And the way of getting ready to Job depends on the way we try to add improvements to the Learnings what we had and I feel it will be of worth.
The quality of placements is good at our college. The highest package offered in Marketing and Finance course which is about around 9LPA currently and it's going to be different when gets the total placement scenario of current. Yes my college is supportive through our placement cell and it's members , always be there for us in order to provide the information in all fields of opportunities in the areas of our interests.
The cost per year is around 2L including hostel and it's been online I don't completely feel that I'm getting my money's worth though the teaching is great but the learnings in online is quite challenging.
Our college is one of the best colleges which has great environment and there are lot of activities where students can engage. The Students, Teachers and the Staff has always great supportive and friendly with each other. Yes, it's safe and can handle the emergencies.
Yes , All facilities are there inside the campus. Wifi campus also there is a facility of ethernet inside the hostel . We will get both ethernet and wifi facility in hostels. For sports and arts we will get a great opportunity to explore . Famous Ragam fest their in NIT Calicut
Too good teachers and friendly atmosphere. The teachers will help you in every areas and we can approach them friendly. They will guide as in a good way that we will get more knowledge and also to get good placement.
Excellent placements are given to students. Upto 50LPA where achieved by the students in NIT calicut. Also big companies like microsoft, google, TCS etc ... are giving placements to students with a high salary package .
Sure , many colleges are taking high payment and giving low quality education. Here you will get a high quality education with low payment for course.
Now by this covid pandemic we realy miss our campis life ..
The college has good infrastructure facilities which are well maintained and as the college dates back to the old REC, it combines the old architecture with contemporary facilities. Every hostel room has wired LAN which provides uninterrupted internet
Quality of teaching is good with well reputed and known faculties. The curriculum is in par with the latest trends in education and they are constantly improving themselves with the ever evolving education practises.
Placements are good and many reputed companies visit the college with descent package and the college training and placement cell has reputed skills in handling the placements with years of experience
With an OBC-NCL rank of 22,373 , getting admission to NIT Calicut is unlikely , as the closing ranks for most branches in previous years were much lower.
For example:
CSE : ~2,846
ECE : ~3,551
Consider exploring other NITs or use the Careers360 JEE Main College Predictor for a better estimate. Let me know your home state for more specific guidance.
It's difficult to say definitively whether a 94.4148 percentile in JEE Main, with home state, OBC, and female quota, will guarantee a BTech Physics seat at NIT Calicut. While a 94 percentile is a good score, it's not a guarantee of admission to a specific program at a specific NIT.
The final cutoff ranks and percentiles for NIT Calicut vary from year to year and are influenced by factors like the overall JEE Main performance, the number of applicants, and the number of seats available.
Your percentile needs to be converted to a rank, which is what is used for seat allotment during the JoSAA counselling process.
Home state quotas can significantly impact your chances, as seats are reserved for students from the state where the NIT is located.
These quotas further influence seat allocation, and the impact on a program like BTech Physics will depend on the specific number of reserved seats and the overall demand for that program.
I suggest you to use JEE predictor tool which will help you to know your chances in nit Calicut .
Based on the JEE Main 2024 cutoff data for NIT Calicut, a 78 percentile score may not be sufficient for admission into most B.Tech programs, even under the SC female category.
Closing ranks for SC female candidates in 2024:
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE): 809 (Other State quota)
- Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE): 3551
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE): 4880
- Mechanical Engineering: 7097
- Civil Engineering: 11567
- Chemical Engineering: 9565
- Bio Technology: 11012
- Production Engineering: 11853
These ranks are All India Ranks (AIR). A 78 percentile typically translates to an AIR of around 180,000 to 200,000, which is higher (worse) than the required closing ranks.
Conclusion: It's unlikely that you’ll get a seat in NIT Calicut with 78 percentile under SC female category in 2025.
Recommendations:
- Explore other NITs with higher closing ranks.
- Look into state-level colleges with SC reservations.
- Participate in CSAB special rounds, which often have relaxed cutoffs.
- Consider alternative exams like COMEDK or state CETs.
