It's not sure about all the facilities are here. But the infrastructure is good, the equipments present in the laboratories are 90% working. The classrooms are so spacious and very ventilated. Library maintainance is nice. Sports centres are good and still we are developing. Hostels are so hygienic and good maintainance by the specially appointed people. Smart boards are using daily in the classrooms. The campus is so cleaned and hygiene. Maintainance of roads are good. Food is so hygienic.
Studying in national institution is my dream. To achieve my goals I'm studying. The quality of teaching is excellent and practically we are getting the subject in labs and workshops. The curriculum is updated. By the study we get the job but depends on student performance, the students are hired by the companies.
The quality of placements are so nice. The package getting by the students are so nice. Nearly more than 50% of the students are placing every year. The highest package is more than 25 lakhs. Average package is 7-8 lakhs. The process of placements will go in a very pleasant manner.
Per year I am paying nearly 1.4 lakhs (only for my academics). I do not think that I'm getting the same thing in reverse.
Campus life excellent. Only 1st year students have restrictions (about timings). Ragging free campus. Students can engage in clubs and sports and cultural clubs and etc... Well skilled faculty present in the laboratories and classes. The campus was located in a safe area. About the emergencies the campus will be in the 1st place.
We have an excellent state of art infrastructure which include high tech labs, super fast computing facilities and Asia's largest library which is yet to be opened. The hostels are wifi equipped. Mess food is delicious.
The teaching squad includes both young and senior faculties. Classes are on a slot basis along with labs. Each subject has around four hours every week. No classes are conducted on weekends. Attendance criteria is pretty strict.
The placements are extremely good. Almost all students get placed with packages reaching upto 30 lakhs per annum. There is also an internship program for third years which can lead to pre placement offers.
Very valuable for the money we pay.
Amazing social life with plenty of clubs and events.
Over a course of 22 years here, infrastructure has definitely improved.(Reviewer being here for 22 years).A definite improvement in sports facility is required.Hostels are good.Mess too.Except mess fees
Stress is too high.Depends on the branch too .Old style records and tight schedules of too short semester span is taking a toll.Cariculum is just starting to get updated at the time of writing. Too many classes taken in a week.
TnP of NITC works day and night to ensure that students here get best placement possible. Not even a single complaint cannot be made against TnP of NIT.Last year showed almost 100% placement. Most students get placed in IT.
Fees is too high considering quality of the campus(for open merit students)
Words cannot describe the NITC life. Its the best time in life for most of us.
Good.
It has all rhe necessary facilities, college has wifi inside the campus,it has beautiful library and also has good lab facilities, they provide good food in the hostel as compared to other colleges of south, fests which are conducted by the college are very grand, enviroment is healthy.
Teaching faculties are good, they are friendly they are always ready to help you,you will get good competitive environment, curriculum is up to date, teachers try to share new informations with the students.
Placement is also very good especially of CSE and ECE almost all students of these two branches got placed in previous years, the companies which comes here for the placement are generally very reputed
It is a government college so the fees is not so high, and one more thing this college provides special concession in fees to weaker communities still they provide good quality of education to them.Tution fee over here is basically based on the annual income of parents.
It is amazing, you will find very friendly people here they provide you every sport they conduct many events, fests are grand, campus is beautiful so you will enjoy the environment too, they always encourages you to participate in refreshing activities.
It provides you good placement in lesser fees and it worths studying there, you will enjoy your 4 year college life trust me!!
the infrastructure is not tht great and sports hereare bad .library is very good with a lot of journals and books,it always has an atmosphere to study .wifi is provided to at all the places in the campus
the quality of academics is good, but the curriculum needs to be updated .I am studying mechanical engineering second year .the quality of the teaching is great around here and faculty is experienced and student freindly
placements in the college is quite high.the average package offered overall is 7 lakes per annual year .for CSC students the percentage of placements is 99 percent and for other branches it is around 80 percent
it costs around 1 lakh per each academic year.along with hostel and meets dues it is around 1 lakh 40 thousand. I don't it is money's worth because the faculty is very good but we cannot approach for doubts as there are ta a assigned who have very poor knowledge and cannot clear our doubts .I would like the faculty to take some time off and start clearing doubts for the students .all the faculty is doing a great job except for few of them.the syllabus should also be changed accordingly .
campus life out here is quite good .there are various clubs both technical and cultural in which we can take part and improve our skills.the campus is beautiful and the area is quite safe out here
overall it is quite good except for few shortcomings
There is good infrastructure. In this campus i have seen friendly and healthy environment. Department buildings are really good with good planning.Even environment around hostels is good with eco-friendly nature.
I'm studying civil engineering and now I'm in second year. Faculty is really good and teaches very well. This curriculum is updated one and includes all the recent developments. Which makes us ready for placement.
For branches like cse and ece placements were good that the remaining branches. And students of this branch are placed with high packages and almost all people will be placed. The average salary offered will vary from branch to branch.
Here the tuition fee is based on the annual income of parents.
Going in a smooth manner with extra curriculuar activities too like sports
This college is a good platform for a better future
The institution has a good infrastructure but doesn't have labs and department buildings for all departments. It has all the in the laboratories but not in good condition because of being one of the oldest NITS .
I am studying B tech in civil engineering.I chose this because I have always had interest in buildings and their constructions since childhood. The curriculum here is up to the date and the teaching also practical which makes us more interested interested in the subject.
Placements here are satisfactory.Although branches other CSE doesn't have more placements ,many people get hired for computer jobs by learning coding and package is also satisfactory.College always supports it's students in getting good job and further opportunities.
Being a central government aided institution, campus always helps the students economically. There is a minimal fee for the students of backward communities and economically weaker sections. And the education we get here is worth to what we are paying.
Campus is really a pleasant and gives homely feeling with many trees around.Students always have some refreshing acitivities and events to get entertained.Institution also has some interesting things like sports NSS NCC which really help students .It has surveillance every where in the campus and students protection is taken seriously.
College is having all the facilities. The classrooms are having projectors. There is a wifi facility in campus as well as in hostels. The surroundings are well maintained. The food in mess are of average taste. One have to habituate it.
Academics are well saod. Lecturers teach well and the suggest books. There is library facility so that we can take books . The curriculum is updated and makes students reach their goals. There are recent developments involved in curriculum.
Placements in here are good. Students with CGPA 6.5 and above are allowed for placements. There are even internship placements available here. One have to prepare well to the exam well to get shortlisted.
Tution fee depends on category and annual income. There are mess fee and hostel fee which will be nearly amd above 40,000. The study taught here is worth of paying. There are electives also available which can be helpful towards our goal.
Campus life in hood. There are two fests tatva and ragam. There will be festival celebrations also. The location is safe and can handle hard situations. To the actual city it is located 45 mins journey far. Teachers , staff are supportive.
The infrastructure is average. There is availability of wifi in hostels, and in college also. There are labs for cse students separately. The is also central library and digital library. Students can study in study room .During exam times extra permission will be allotted to stay in study rooms and study. There are more restrictions to girls compared to boys.
Academics are good. Lectures teach well and some lecture s teach through the ppts. The way they teach helps many students to reach their goals. The curriculum is updated and includes recent development. Quality of teaching is average. If didn't understand we can meet them personally and ask doubts
There is restriction to the students to appear for placements. Students have to work hard to get placed along with their grades. There will be an exam for shortlisting the students. Then there will be some rounds of interviews. Highest package is 40 Lakhs per annum. Average package is 12 Lakhs per annum.
The study given here is good and worthy paying. For one semester it is 62,000. That is per year 1,20,000. And it fee depends on the category and annual income. We also have an Health center provided ,where we can consult doctors.
Campus Life is good and refreshing. One can learn lot of thinks from the campus. We can see lot of politics during the inductions of clubs. There are many clubs which are technical and cultural. There are two fests per year called tathva, technical fest and ragam , cultural fest
Albeit the infrastructure and material used in the first year classrooms standing out, the classes from second year tend to not have mikes and proper lighting, this combined with the fact that there are almost 70-80 in a class meant that the takeaway from a class was poor.
I am studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and the quality of teaching is poor to average, this is owing to the fact that although the faculty are in high academic standing they do not know how to teach, this contributes to us not understanding anything which directly leads to poor quality of education all round.
The highest salary obviously went to the CSE department, but however owing to the multitude of extra curricular activities in the college, everybody has access to everything, meaning one could end up taking a degree in chemical engineering but end up in the mechanical department if one is ambitious enough.
Being a government college, the fees is not high and hence it is unnecessary to evaluate the question.
The Campus life is pretty good, with people from all walks of life being here it is truly a remarkable place to be in. However the traditional thinking attitude of the college administration has started to take a toll on the students recently. Poor understanding of different situations has cost the students as well as the administration multiple times. But however besides that, it is a terrific place go be in.
Hello Mr. Bini,
Considering your son's rank in JEE Main (3715 in General category, Maharashtra), here below is the categorization that might help you narrow down the options:
CSE in NIT Calicut (or Other NITs):
ECE in IIIT Hyderabad:
ECE in NIT Warangal/Surathkal/Trichy/Rourkela:
If the emphasis is on core tech roles and software engineering, get him a place in CSE at a top NIT (ideally Trichy, Warangal, or Surathkal). If there is a willingness to accept a comprehensive, research-based academic program, with future scope in core tech, AI or higher studies, then ECE at IIIT Hyderabad could be the best long term option. Do not opt for lower-tier NITs if you can get him into one of these higher tier institutes.
With an OBC-NCL rank of 22,373 , getting admission to NIT Calicut is unlikely , as the closing ranks for most branches in previous years were much lower.
For example:
CSE : ~2,846
ECE : ~3,551
Consider exploring other NITs or use the Careers360 JEE Main College Predictor for a better estimate. Let me know your home state for more specific guidance.
It's difficult to say definitively whether a 94.4148 percentile in JEE Main, with home state, OBC, and female quota, will guarantee a BTech Physics seat at NIT Calicut. While a 94 percentile is a good score, it's not a guarantee of admission to a specific program at a specific NIT.
The final cutoff ranks and percentiles for NIT Calicut vary from year to year and are influenced by factors like the overall JEE Main performance, the number of applicants, and the number of seats available.
Your percentile needs to be converted to a rank, which is what is used for seat allotment during the JoSAA counselling process.
Home state quotas can significantly impact your chances, as seats are reserved for students from the state where the NIT is located.
These quotas further influence seat allocation, and the impact on a program like BTech Physics will depend on the specific number of reserved seats and the overall demand for that program.
I suggest you to use JEE predictor tool which will help you to know your chances in nit Calicut .
