About NIT Durgapur
The National Institute of Technology Durgapur was established by the Government of India in 1960, as an Institute of National Importance. NIT Durgapur offers courses in the stream of Engineering, Sciences, Management, Arts and Humanities. NIT Durgapur (NIT DGP) offers a total of 56 courses including B.Tech, M.Sc, M.B.A, M.Tech and Ph.D.
For admission to courses at NIT DGP should meet the eligibility criteria and appear for the entrance examination and the counselling process. Candidates applying for B.Tech, courses at the institute are required to have a valid score in JEE Main and appear for the JoSAA counselling process. Students must take different exams like GATE for M.Tech, NIMCET for M.C.A, and JAM for M.Sc courses offered by NIT Durgapur. Its a decent NIT with good infrastructure with good libraries canteen cafeteria hostel for boys and girls. Though class rooms are not in good position some are non ac room, benches are uncomfortable in 2025, but renovation is going on.

College Infrastructure
NIT Durgapur Infrastructure is very good. There will be 3 students in each room, 2 fans, 2 lights, 3 beds, 3 tables, 3 chairs for 3 people. The hostel provides food thrice a day, in the morning, afternoon and night. The quality of the food is not very good but it is not bad. After online admission, there is physical reporting. What documents are required for hostel allotment? You will get the list of those through email from the college. You cannot stay in NIT Durgapur by taking a room/PG.
