Yes the college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment that might be required for the student. The equipments are continuously maintained and are in good shape. The classrooms dont have a perfect ventilation but the coolers cover up for it. Yes the living spaces in hostels are clean and well maintained
Im a graduate from Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. The quality of a few well knowledgeable professors are good where they inspire the students to fall in love with the subjects while the others are not that great
The quality of placements is good for the circuital branches while the non circuital branches suffer. The packages of students aren't what is expected from a national level college except for a few which are used for advertisements.
the cost of the course for a year is around 2 lakhs which and not its not worth the money
One of the best campus life u can have within the vast college space and its culture
All the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment are available like play ground, gym, swimming pool, wife, common room, libraries etc. Hostel food is hygienic but quality is ok ok. They are all used and well- maintained.
My dream is a engineering so I joined Nit Rourkela. Because nit rourkela is a most reputed college in engineering field. Teacher quality is also good. But academic pressure is little more on btect students.
Placement is good in nit rourkela. Almost 95%students are placed in college. Average package around 9 to 10 lpa. Placement process is too easy in nit rourkela. Some faculty are support during Placement.
Nit rourkela fee is around 2lac per year including hostel and mess fee.
Outstanding life.
Good experience.
It is best college among all NITs in terms of infrastructure for labs, advance, research equipment and other activities like sports, extra curricular etc.Classroms are spacious and plenty in number.Library is huge, may be the largest in odisha. There are 8 boys hostel and 2 ladies hostel.Have separate mess and outstanding food quality.it is completely green campus.
The faculties are very experienced and supportive.A lot of research and development works are carried out and many papers are published. The curriculum is updated with present needs.use of digital platform using smart class is also done. The central library has almost all books required for students.
Training and placement cell looks over the placements at college. Many big companies like TATA,Microsoft,Qualcomm,Isro and many more come for recruitment. The placement process very well organized and placement coordinator are very supportive.M.tech structures placements was good and 80% of students were placed.Highest salary package was 40Lpa for computer engineering.
Yeah,I feel my money is getting worthy because my college gives me lot of practical knowledge and outstanding technical skills. Not only in studies my faculty will give same priority to extra-curricular activities.
Very big campus(approx 1200 acres).Almost all facilities available inside campus but not much to do outside.Good senior junior interaction, rich club culture.Opportunities to participate in sports, cultural, technical activities.
It is completely green campus with peaceful environment.
The infrastructure of NIT Rourkela is one of the best among top colleges in India. The whole campus is filled with a lot of greenery which makes the surrounding peaceful. The new 14 floor building at the centre of premises is like icing on the cake. The campus has nine hall of residence with facilities like Air-conditioned reading rooms, TV Room, Gym, ground, badminton court, etc. The campus has its own medical centre, swimming pool, central library, central gym, indoor courts and so on.
The faculties are very experienced and supportive. A lot of Research and development works are carried out and many papers are published. The curriculum is updated with present needs. Use of digital platform using smart class is also done. The central library has almost all books required for students.
Training and placement cell looks over the placements at college. Many big companies like TATA, Microsoft, Qualcomm, ISRO, L&T, and many more come for recruitment. The placement process very well organised and placement coordinator are very supportive. M.Tech Structures placement was good and 80% of students were placed. Highest salary package was 40Lpa for computer engineering.
M. Tech course cost around 80k per semester but the facilities provided are worth the fees paid because of the soothing environment, top-class infrastructure facilities, hygienic food, clean campus, sports facilities, competitive environment and good placement record.
The college campus is a dream for many students. The best thing about the campus is its clean and safe environment with lots of colourful flowers and green trees. A student can easily access all the facilities provided by the institute for self-development. A student activity centre is specially developed to improve co-curricular activities. The students are encouraged to build sportsmanship qualities. The college is present in Rourkela city of Orissa which is a small city with many importance.
I enjoyed the hostel life, the most. The college helped me a lot in self-development and taught me new skills.
One of the best among all NITs in terms of infrastructure for labs, advanced research equipment and other activities like sports, extra curriculars etc. Classrooms are spacious and plenty in number. Library is huge, may be the largest in Odisha. There are a 8 boys hostels and 2 ladies hostels. Have separate mess and food quality is ok. And the environment is clean
Quality of academics is pretty good if not the best. Almost all faculty members are PhDs from reputed institutes both from India and abroad. NIT Rourkela has the highest research output in terms of publications in peer reviewed journals and total number of citations. Academic Curriculum was recently updated to make it for flexible and match industry standards. Biggest negative point is the ultra stringent attendance policy with 85% mandatory attendance in classes.
About placements is overall good.if Only major disadvantage is location. Lack of a functional airport in Rourkela acts as an obstacle for some companies to visit campus. Average CTC approximately 7 LPA in my batch with highest being 42 LPA. And overall every student get placement
General: 6.27 Lakhs Scheduled Caste: 1.27 Lakhs Scheduled Tribe: 1.27 Lakhs . Fee is little bit high but if you are from scheduled caste then fee is feasible for you. And also apply for different scholarship
Very big campus (approx 1200 acres). Almost all facilities available inside campus but not much to do outside. And as every college have inter college competition our college also have some group activities, webinar, seminar are held here
My experience is totally good here as a btech i like this college for education quality . You are local here then it's more beneficial for you
Nit Rourkela has beautiful campus along with mountains and greenaries. It provide you with all the infrastructures, laboratories, lan facilities, playgrounds and best library. Hostels are clean and food is good. There are canteens , stores and restaurants inside the campus that will provide you everything you need.
I am Mtech final year student studying in Power Electronics and Drives specialization, Electrical department. Quality of teaching is good and encourages research work. For placements in core sector, there are less companies. But you can apply for other sector jobs as well.
Companies like General electric, Qualcomm, Schneider came for placement but due to current situation they recruited very less number of students. Average package for IT sector companies are 6 to 8 lpa. Internship offers are also there for intrested students.
Course cost approximately 70 to 80k per semester, exemptions are there for ST and SC students. Also stipend of amount 12400 Rs is given to all the Mtech students from MHRD. Stipend money is enough to pay the fees and monthly expenses.
Campus is the best part . Its surrounded by nature and weather is lovely during winter. Students and staffs are supportive. Its completely safe for girls even during night. Campus has proper medical facilities for emergency. And you will the badminton court if are intrested in playing.
Just enjoy the time in campus ,I am sure you will miss this once you are gone .
All are equipped with LAN and have separate messes. Food is a very subjective thing hence can't but comment but I personally never had any issues with the mess food,
Quality of academics is pretty good if not the best. Almost all faculty members are PhDs from reputed institutes both from India and abroad. NIT Rourkela has the highest research output in terms of publications in peer reviewed journals and total number of citations. Decent placements if not outstanding. Only major disadvantage is location. Lack of a functional airport in Rourkela acts as an obstacle for some companies to visit campus. Average CTC approximately 7 LPA in my batch with highest being 42 LPA.
Very big campus (approx 1200 acres). Almost all facilities available inside campus but not much to do outside.
Good infrastructure, huge campus, well equipped hostel and hostel cafeteria, good labs with availability of new and cutting edge instruments, opportunities to participate in cross department research activities, nice library, wifi speed, garden. Clean and green environment which is well maintained.
Workload w.r.t. curriculum is moderate, some of the subjects need syllabus updates to match the industry standards, Scope of improvements in sem and evaluation structure. A lot of facilities in terms of research, cross department research, conference and national and international publications. Makes the students competent for job/higher studies
Versatility when it comes to the number and types of companies visiting, placements is moderate for Int/Mtech branches. Good placement policy and average stats are good when compared to other Engineering institutions.
Fair course fee. Frequent fests at institution, department, hostel level. Good facilities available.
Amazing. Good senior junior interaction, rich club culture. Opportunities to participate in sports, cultural, technical and managerial activities. People are friendly.
Go for it!
College campus is huge and one of the largest in India, it has everything from numerous cafeterias to restaurants and canteens, 10 hostels to go with different mess in each of them. Worth the praise for its campus
Quality of teaching is about par, it depends on the teacher, most of them are good but can't be expecting much as it's a government institution. It's worth going for and you won't regret it for sure .
Average salary offered is around 7-8 lacs discounting the off campus placements, it has a decent campus placement probably a bit hampered by number of branches it has that are a bit unknown to other colleges
Best thing about this college is infrastructure next to studies and placements.Nit rourkela has 10 different hostels and it has a campus area of around 700 to 1200 acres with seperate building for different branches
Here i am studying mining engineering .The quality of teaching is really good . And what i study here really makes me ready for job.Talking about the curriculum then yes it is updated and includes all recent development in the field
Placements are really outstanding with hundred percent placement in my department. The highest placement is generally backed by cse where companies like microsoft ,google give the highest packages.Average salary of all branches here is about 6 to 7 lakh.
Depends upon friend circle that what type of friends you have in your group. My friend circle is phenomenal so my college life is very good.
Best college in terms of discipline and in terms of attendance.
